The London General Practice — Executive Health Screening

At The London General Practice, our Essential, Advanced, and Ultimate Health Screens are built around your individual risk profile, age, and family history. Below is an overview of how we assess each body system, and the evidence behind the tests we use.

HEALTH SCREENS

Cardiovascular Health

Heart and vascular health form the foundation of every health screen we offer. We begin with the essentials — blood pressure, a resting 12-lead ECG, and a fasting lipid profile — and combine these with a formal 10-year cardiovascular risk calculation to give you a clear picture of your heart health, not just a set of numbers.

For clients at Advanced and Ultimate level, we add 3D echocardiography to assess heart structure and valve function, and carotid Doppler ultrasound to assess your arteries for early signs of atherosclerosis. At Ultimate level, we offer CT coronary angiography or stress echocardiography for a detailed, direct assessment of your coronary arteries.

Respiratory Health

We assess your lung health through spirometry, which measures how well your lungs are functioning, alongside a review of your smoking history and a calculated lung cancer risk score (PLCO). Where indicated by risk factors, we can arrange low-dose CT lung screening.

Gastrointestinal and Liver Health

Your digestive and liver health is assessed through a comprehensive blood panel
including liver function tests, alongside a calculated NAFLD (non-alcoholic fatty liver
disease) fibrosis score and a bowel screening test (FIT) to check for hidden blood in the stool.

At Ultimate level, we add Liver FibroScan for a detailed, non-invasive assessment of liver stiffness, and either CT colonography or a full abdominal ultrasound covering the liver and aorta.

disease (NAFLD): assessment and management. NICE guideline NG49.

Kidney and Metabolic Health

We screen your kidney function through urea, electrolytes, and eGFR, alongside urinalysis. Your metabolic health is assessed through fasting glucose and HbA1c testing, which identifies diabetes and pre-diabetes at an early, manageable stage.

Endocrine and Nutritional Health

We assess thyroid function through TSH and T4 testing, and check for common nutritional deficiencies through vitamin D, vitamin B12, folate, and ferritin levels — all of which can affect energy, mood, and overall wellbeing.
