Men’s health services
At The London General Practice, our philosophy is to help all our patients to maintain their health and wellbeing through carefully targeted testing, treatment and advice, with flexible appointment availability to suit your busy schedule.
Our programmes are designed specifically for the health concerns of our male patients, from specific screening for conditions such as prostate and testicular cancer, to general health advice on issues such as stress management, diet and exercise.
For many of our male patients, especially those in their late forties and beyond, heart disease is their number one health concern. The London General Practice offers comprehensive cardiovascular screening, both for your own peace of mind and to spot any early signs of heart disease.
All tests are done within our high quality treatment rooms in the Harley Street district of London, so there’s no anxious wait for your appointment or for your results, and you remain in the care of friendly, familiar faces throughout.
“Cardiovascular screening is an essential tool in the early detection and treatment of heart disease.”
Of course, not all men’s health problems are of physical origin; we understand the effect that stress can have on both your mind and your body.
As part of our men’s health programme we offer stress counselling and lifestyle advice to help you to identify the sources of stress in your life and develop effective strategies to deal with stress when it occurs.
“The London General Practice gives you someone to talk to about stress, as well as practical, actionable advice on how to deal with it.”
“The London General Practice offers the finest levels of care and support to help men maintain their physical and mental wellbeing.”
Prostate and testicular cancer screening
As part of our well-man health screening, The London General Practice offers thorough examinations to check for testicular cancer in younger men and for prostate cancer in more mature male patients. These are both simple tests, involving either a physical examination or a blood test for prostate specific antigen (PSA). They take just a few minutes, but they could save your life through early detection and prompt treatment.
“Catching testicular cancer early can often mean it can be cured completely. Earlier detection of prostate cancer means more effective treatment that allows you to maintain a healthy sex life.”
Many sexually transmitted diseases, such as chlamydia, show few or no symptoms, and so regular testing is crucial for their early detection and treatment. The London General Practice offers discreet, private tests and treatment to give you complete peace of mind.
The London General Practice also offers friendly and discreet contraception advice, including referrals for vasectomy and vasectomy reversal procedures.
