In a recent article Dr Angela Rai offers some expert advice on bowel cancer symptoms to look out for and what you should do if you are concerned.
According to Bowel Cancer UK Bowel cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the UK, and the second main cause of cancer-related deaths. Also known as colorectal cancer it effects the colon and rectum. Bowel cancer, as with most illnesses, is best diagnosed as early as possible to ensure the best treatment. In this article Dr Rai provides some of the key symptoms to look out for:
Some of the symptoms of Bowel cancer can include:
- Weight loss
- Bowel changes
- Blood in your stool
- Fatigue and/orUnexplained tiredness
- Lump or pain in your stomach
“There are many causes of fatigue and this should be investigated,” says Dr Rai. “Bowel cancer can cause anaemia, and the lack of healthy red cells causes fatigue.”
