Dr Paul Ettlinger, GP at The London General Practice, offers some tips and advice on how to help stay awake when tired. While it is important to maintain a healthy sleep pattern and ensure you are getting enough sleep there are times when you may need to stay alert and keep tiredness at bay.
Physical activity and exercise can help to fight tiredness, encouraging the body to release endorphins and boost brain activity. Staying cool can also help to keep the body awake, so a good tip is to reduce the room temperature or open a window to get some cool air in.
