Dr Angela Rai, private GP at our central London Doctors Clinic, contributes to an article offering 12 simple ways to reduce fatigue this holiday season. The Christmas and New Year period can a very busy time, with lots of socialising, late nights, rich food and alcohol it’s not surprising that many of us feel tired as a result.

There are a few simple things you can do to combat holiday fatigue. Watching your alcohol intake, maintaining your sleep routine, staying hydrated and exercise can all help to fight tiredness and reduce stress.

“Some common conditions that are known to cause fatigue include anaemia, diabetes, hypothyroidism and vitamin B12 deficiency, among others.”

Dr Rai also notes the importance of identifying health conditions. Poor sleep, dehydration and stress are common over the festive period but could also be a symptom of illness. Anaemia, diabetes, hypothyroidism and vitamin B12 deficiency are all examples of illnesses that can present with symptoms of fatigue.
